District Library Doda Celebrates World Book Day.

To commemorate the World Book Day, District Library Doda today on Tuesday organised book exhibition-cum-interaction. The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr Sagar D. Doifode, DDC Doda.
While addressing the gathering he said that entire world celebrate April 23 World Book Day as per UNESCO guidelines in order to promote the reading habits among the young generations. On display new arrival of competitive books, rare books were also put at the exhibition.
While deliberating upon the need of promoting the book culture DDC Doda, said that books are true friends and stressed upon young generation to inculcate the reading habits so that their mental abilities widen.
While speaking on the occasion DDC said,“We are living in a technology-driven age wherein every bit of information is available on the click of a button. Despite that, the books still hold utmost importance and the youngsters should develop habit of reading diverse range of books in order to gain more knowledge and further improve their language skills”.
DDC Doda also directed the officials of district library to provide all kind of competitive books and newspapers to the readers in the library which will increase the footfall and also said that every possible help will be provided to make the necessary arrangements at district library where all kind of competitive books in classified manner will be provided to the readers to make it an interesting learning place.
SSP Doda Mohd Shabir Malik,CPO DODA Parshotam kumar,Senior citizens of Doda, Principal’s of different schools, In-charge Librarian Doda,and students from different institutions were also present on the occasion.
