*DDC Doda laid foundation stone of newly sanctioned Degree College at Kastigarh*

DODA,July 18:
District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode laid the foundation stone of newly sanctioned Government Degree College at Kastigarh in presence of OSD to Advisor Khurshid Ganai,Sh Kishore Singh Chib and Principal GDC doda Dr Shafqat H Rafiqi here on Thursday.

DDC said that a long pending demand of the people of the area for a degree college has been fulfilled. He said Governor’s administration is committed to take quality higher education in rural and far-flung areas of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the government has already initiated several measures for strengthening the educational infra in the district so that people living in rural and far-flung areas get quality educational facilities within their catchment area.

Meanwhile DDC also informed the gathering that due to the unconditional support of the Secretary Higher education Talat Parvez Rohela, we have witness this day of celebration in this area,which is going to be remember by the people of this tehsil for rest of their lives.

While congratulating the people of the area, DDC said that the establishment of GDC at Kastigarh would benefit about 34000 population of 8 surrounding villages of the said Tehsil.

Further DDC said that approximately 44 kanals  land have been identified for establishment of GDC Kastigarh with estimated cost of 13 crores,besides said that JKPCC Department has been entrusted with the job of construction of the college with all modern and requisite amenities within stipulated time.

Moreover DDC also said that, establishment of this college will have a huge social impact on the respective region,besides it will also reduce the financial implications on the students who have to move to Doda earlier to pursue higher education.

DDC Doda on the occasion also conveyed warm regards to the land donors and said that because of their sacrifice we are finally able to laid down the establishment of this college which will change the overall development scenario in the area,and also informed the gathering that already 24 admissions have been done and more will be made in the upcoming days and tentative space for classes are already provided in the higher secondary school building.

OSD to Advisor(G) Er Kishore Singh Chib who was also present during the occasion,also congratulated the people for new Degree College and assured the people that college infrastructure will be developed on priority and class work will start at the institution soon, besides told them that to take education of girls on a mission mode in this area.

Others who were present during the foundation ceremony are ADDC Doda Imam Din, Principal GDC Doda Dr Shafqat H Rafiqi, Tehsildar Kastigarh Raju Samyal, BDO Kastigarh Nazir Ahmed Shah besides other officials of district administration.
