*Advisors Sharma, Skandan visits Doda, reviews stock of essential commodities and ongoing development activities in district Doda* _Also met several deputation’s at Doda,asked the officers to work for the betterment of the people_

DODA, August 19: Advisor’s to Hon’ble Governor, K.Skandan and K.K Sharma today visited Doda, to review the progress of major developmental projects and stock supply of various essential commodities in the district.

The Advisor’s convened a meeting with the district officers of various departments to review the project-wise status of all ongoing developmental projects and sought the detailed information pertaining to the availability of essential commodities especially the availability of power,water supply, medicines etc.

DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode, SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma, SP operations R P Singh, ASP Doda, CPO Parshotam Kumar,ACR Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, ACD Davender Singh Bhau besides other senior officers were present in the meeting.

DDC Doda gave a detailed presentation and highlighted the sector-wise progress of major projects and key flagship schemes of different sectors like CRF, PMGSY, Health,GMC doda, Agriculture, Horticulture and Sports taken up in the district.

DDC apprised the Advisor’s about the status of all ongoing projects in the district which includes construction of newly sanctioned GMC Doda, construction of multipurpose indoor hall at Doda, bridges, roads,development of play fields,besides other development projects which are under execution or pending due to some reasons.

Advisor Skandan and Advisor Sharma while reviewing the status of the projects held detailed discussions with the concerned officers and asked for close monitoring of the works for their timely completion. All these projects are of public importance and the completion should not be delayed because of any reason,they added.

While discussing the functioning of health department, the Advisor’s were informed that doctors and paramedics are recruited in good numbers after the establishment of GMC in the area,they assured that shortage of staff in the hospital and phc’s will be resolved soon.They asked the health department to work with dedication towards ensuring better health care facilities to the people in the district,besides they also reviewed the availability of medicines in the district.

While reviewing the construction and upgradation of various road projects of district Doda, DDC apprised the Advisor’s about the various issues which are creating problem in completing those projects like court stays, pending technical sanctions from the higher authorities etc.

Authorities of PWD and PHE department informed the meeting that various projects under different schemes are completed and several shall be completed by the end of this financial year, Advisor’s asked the concerned authorities to notify the dates for inaugrating the projects which are completed,so that people across the district shall witness that administration is doing various efforts for the convenience of the general public.

Further directions were passed to identify/execute atleast one project / scheme in every village under Back to Village Programme which aims to meet the long pending urgent demand of rural poor.

Advisors further asked to prepare a district microplan in convergence under Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and UMEED sectors, so that new avenues shall be made available to the unemployed youth so that they can earn their livelihood in independent manner, DDC informed the advisor’s that recently a 15 day training program was organised for umeed voulenteers for basket making and same programs will be coordinated in future also.

Advisors directed the PDD to ensure availability of electricity in every nook and corner of the district as Govt is commited to provide 100% electricty under Saubhagya Scheme.

While reviewing the education sector DDC informed that a district level initiative under the tagline under Zimedari-ek ehsaas was initiated under which 100 parameters were identified to grade the schools, Advisor’s congratulated the DDC and his team for initiating such a unique concept for the betterment of the schools across the district.

DDC informed the meeting that 89 play grounds have been completed last year while 148 play grounds are identified for this year.

For completion of work of multipurpose indoor hall,Mini Secretariat building of DC office and other projects which are to be executed by JkPCC and which are stalled due to some issues, Advisor’s told the Executive Engineer JKPCC that some structural changes in the working of the department is required and will be communicated to their higher authorities very soon to complete all the projects under fixed timelines.

The Advisors appreciated the efforts of district administration for effective implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in different sectors.

Addressing the meeting,both the Advisors spoked about the recent structural changes made in J&K and briefed them that how these changes will improve the quality of development scenario across the J&k,besides asked the officers to communicate the positive messages about these changes to the common people which will ultimately reduce the threat of rumour mongering in the society. They asked the DDC to hold review meetings on regular basis to assess the progress of different schemes being executed for the welfare of people.

During the visit, various deputation’s also met the Advisors and projected demands of different nature. The Advisor assured all deputations of early resolution to their respective demands.
