*DC Doda convened meeting with Apple Growers of the district, informed them about the benefits of recently launched MIS schemes for Apple growers*

DODA, SEPTEMBER 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode today chaired a meeting of the Apple Growers of the district here to inform them about the recently launched Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) in the district.
CPO Doda,CAO Doda, Area Marketing Officer, Officers from Horticulture, Agriculture, and other senior officers, besides fruit growers of the district attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that in order to facilitate the Apple Growers of the district for selling their produce in the nearest Fruit Mandi at district Anantnag under the aforementioned scheme, necessary facilities is being provided to the farmer’s by the district administration for smooth operationalization of the scheme. Senior level functionaries from Horticulture, Agriculture and Transport Department will be monitoring and supervising the entire operation at district headquarters.
Under MIS scheme, apples cultivated in J&K will be procured directly from farmers by the government-run National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).
Besides a committee has been framed by the DC Doda who shall work in coordination to facilitate the Apple Growers for collection, transportation and providing other logistics to the Apple Growers for selling their produce under the scheme.
Further CAO, CHO and Area Marketing Officer Doda has been directed to ensure the wide publicity to all the growers through their field functionaries and other mediums. ARTO Doda has been directed to make all the necessary arrangements for transportation of produce in consultation with the nodal officer of the committee.
The DC directed the concerned committee to gear up their administrative machinery to ensure that Apple growers reap the benefits of the special Market Intervention Scheme.
