*DC Doda inaugurated debate competition programme under ‘BBBP’ organised by health department at SDH Bhaderwah*

BHADERWAH, OCTOBER 19:- Health Department Bhaderwah today organised a debate competition programme for generating mass awareness on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”  here at Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah.
 
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah Sh. Rajinder Khajuria, Block Medical Officer Dr. Hameed Zargar, Senior Citizens, Health workers, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers,besides number of students from different schools and college were also present.
 
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr. Sagar D. Doifode who was the Chief guest inaugurated debate competition programme Under “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”.
 
Speaking on the occasion, DC Doda highlighted the need to weed out inequalities for the girl child and work for her betterment in the society. He said that there are several issues related to girl child including foeticide, discrimination on the basis of education, nutrition and honour which require deep deliberations so that remedial measures could be worked out and thus implemented.
 
He said “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign has proved quite fruitful in creating mass awareness regarding the importance of girls in building a balanced society.
 
During The program a debate competition on the topic “save the girl child” under BBBP’ was organised to more generate awareness among the students from schools and college.
 
Students who spoked on the topic were  namely Sonika Bhgotra, Sabiya Naseer, Taranum Naz and Nargis Nelofer from Girls HR. Sec. School Bhaderwah. Radhika Wazir, Insha Ikhlaq, Saika Naseer and Salma Iqbal from Govt Degree College Bhaderwah, and Alifa Anayat, Vijay Lakshmi, Bindya Sambiyal and Hemani Manhas from Gurukul Institute of Para Medical Studies.
