DDC Doda reviews Road Safety Action Plan* _Directs to conduct safety conference of all the driver’s regarding road safety_

District Development Commissioner Dr Sagar D Doifode today chaired a meeting of District Road Safety Committee to review the Road Safety Action Plan (2019-2020).
 
The meeting was attended by District Road Safety Committee members comprising, CPO, XEN R&B Doda, ARTO, Dy. SP(operations),Dy. SP Traffic CEO, CMO, OC GREF, besides other officers.
 
The DDC emphasized that road safety is a matter of immense importance and enhancement of safety by way of formulating a comprehensive action plan, therefore, deserves priority attention of all the stakeholders.
 
He stressed for immediate action for identifying black spots, initiating remedial measures, installation of signages, painting at appropriate spots, generation of awareness etc for making the roads in the district safer.
 
DDC allowed the officer’s of central armed forces that their officials can conduct checkings of vehicles in their jurisdictions, if they found the plying vehicle is voilating the norms and the erring vehicles shall be immediately communicated to the traffic department to take necessary action against that violators under new MVD act.
 
It was informed to the DDC by ARTO Doda that road safety audit and suggesting remedial action as necessary had been already done. In this regard, a committee comprising Executive Engineer R&B Doda, NHIDCL,Beacon has been constituted and asked to take up the matter with their HOD’s regrading funds management within 15 days and start their work of constructing crash barriers, parapets along all the roads especially on NH and accident prone area.
 
Health department has been directed to deploy critical care ambulance service at khaleni trauma centre, Thathri and Bhaderwah respectively,besides ask the CEO Doda to organise awareness camps in the school’s to sensitise them about the hazards of overloading and to tell them not to sit ever in any overloaded vehicle.
 
Moreover DDC directed the MVD and Traffic police to organise safety conference for all the driver’s and agent’s of transport association within 7 days to sensitise them about road safety.
 
Further DDC ask the MC Doda, ARTO and traffic department yo identify the parking lots on all the inner roads of doda and in its adjoining areas, besides directed the NHIDCL authorities to start construction of parapets from khaleni(8-10km) within two days respectively.
