*Oath ceremony of 17 newly elected BDC Chairperson’s held at Doda* _DDC Advises BDC Chairperson’s to ensure development in sync with the aspirations of the general public_

DODA,31 October: The Oath ceremony function of the 17 newly  elected BDC Chairperson’s of Doda district, organized by District administration in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj,held here today.
 
The oath was administered by DPO Doda Mohd Idrees lone to the newly elected BDC Chairperson’s of 17 blocks of the district in the presence of DDC DODA Dr Sagar D Doifode and SSP Doda Mumtaz Hussain, besides ADC Bhaderwah, ACD Doda, BDO’s and huge gathering of Sarpanches and panches were also present during the program.
 
Speaking on the occasion DDC congratulated the Chairperson’s on being elected as representatives of their respective blocks. He observed that the Panchayati Raj Institutions can truly represent and fulfill the developmental aspirations of people due to direct/indirect participation of people in planning development of their areas and implementing Government welfare schemes under close monitoring.
 
DDC complimented newly elected BDC Chairperson’s,Sarpanches and Panches for their whole hearted participation in the Panchayat elections which were held for the first time in J&K.
 
He described it as the victory of grassroot level democracy in a country which has faith in democratic institutions since time immemorial.
 
DDC observed that major amendments in the Panchayati Raj Act have been incorporated through which the Government intends massive devolution of funds, functions and functionaries of 21 departments to the Panchayati Raj Institutions.
 
He also urged them to ensure development which is in sync with the aspirations of the general public.
 
DDC assured every possible support of his Administration to the Chairperson’s,Sarpanches, Panches and observed that planned development of any area would be done in consensus with the BDC Chairpersons,Sarpanches and panches of respective blocks.
