Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ celebrated with great enthusiasm and massive participation in Doda

DC, SSP Doda flags off ‘Run for Unity’

    

DODA, October 31:

To commemorate ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the District Administration Doda in collaboration with DYSSO Doda and District Police organized ‘Run for Unity’ from sports stadium Doda to the main areas of the town and culminated at the flagoff venue here.

 

The run was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner Doda (DC), Dr Sagar D Doifode and SSP Doda, Mumtaz Hussain besides many district and Sectoral officer’s were present on the occasion, a school student administered the pledge of “Rashtriya Ekta” to the participants.

 

DC Doda, while addressing said that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was a true patriot who believed in the complete unification of all the states into the mighty nation, which has today  become a symbol of greatness and power. He said that the central government has decided to celebrate the birthday of Sardar Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) every year.

 

He appealed to people of Doda to strive hard and dedicate themselves for preserving the unity ,integrity and security of the nation and motivate others for the cause.

 

Moreover almost around 300 students from all the educational institutions participated in the program.
