*”10th National Voters day” celebrated in Doda; Pledges, debates, cultural program organized* _Conduct of Free and Fair elections, best example of strong democracy: DEO Doda_ *Also felicitates Officers/ Officials for their outstanding performances*

DODA, January 25: To mark the 10th National Voters’ Day and to encourage newly enrolled voters for participation in electoral process with the theme “Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy”, an impressive function was held today at Town Hall Doda here. 
District Election Officer (DEO) Doda,Dr Sagar D Doifode was the chief guest on the occasion. 
Among others present during the occasion were ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma,, Joint Director Planning, Parshotam Kumar,DFO Doda Navneet Singh, ACR Doda Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, Dy DEO Doda, Parshotam Kumar,CEO Doda Tariq Hussain,PO ICDS Shahida Parveen,Dy Director Employment,PO IWMP Vinay Kumar, ENT Doda Sajad Akhtar Khanji,besdies Senior district Officers, BLO’s,scores of school students,staff of election and information department and others.
At the outset DEO Doda administered the pledge to the participants.
Addressing the participants DEO Doda said”we have to educate and aware new voters about the ethical and qualitative participation in the electoral process”. 
He also highlighted the struggle put in by freedom fighters in securing this right which gives the opportunity to each and every citizen of this great nation without any discrimination of caste,creed,gender etc to actively participate in the electoral democracy.
Moreover he also asked the authorities of education department to establish Electoral Literacy Clubs where in they are not yet established on priority basis in all the institution’s across the district so that our new generation can be taught about how the electoral democracy functions and how important it is for them to make our electoral set up more democratic.
He appealed all the eligible voters to enroll themselves as electors in the electoral roll.
Dy DEO briefied the participants about National Voters Day and the importance of Vote in strengthening the democracy, besides PO IWMP Vinay Kumar (Nodal officer SVEEP) put light on various updations done by Election Commission of India time to time to make elections free and fair in the entire country.
During the programme,various activities were held including voters pledge to the participants besides display of EVM-VVPAT  by Fayaz Mehta Master trainer and felicitation of best performing Officers/Officials for their outstanding performance during the Lok Sabha/BDC Elections elections 2019 in the district by DEO Doda.
It is pertinent to mention here that Similar functions on 10th National Voters’ Day were also held across the District at Sub-Divisions and special camp was also organised for the enrollment of new voter’s at town hall Doda.
