*People of Doda celebrates 71st Republic Day with great gusto,national spirit and enthusiasm* _First time in the history of national day celebrations at Doda,near about 11000 people gathered to celebrate Republic day with enthusiasm_ *Deputy Commissioner Doda unfurls tricolor, inspects guard of honour*

DODA, January 26, 2020: The 71st Republic Day was today celebrated with great enthusiasm, fervour and national spirit at Sports Stadium Doda wherein the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner, Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode unfurled the tricolor and took salute of the march past of contingents from JKP, CRPF,SSB, JKAP, JKP, FPF,NCC Jr, Home Guard and scores of students from GDC Doda(NCC senior)besides 

various schools of the district.

 

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mumtaz Ahmed, District Session Judge Doda,Zabair Ahmed, ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma,SP Operations R P Singh, ASP Doda Master Popsy, President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, besides other senior officers from civil and police administration,  Army, CRPF,IRP,BSF, Sarpanches, Panches, elected members of MC Doda, prominent citizens, social workers, political activisits and large number of men, women and children were present on the occasion.

   

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode highlighted the importance of Republic Day and stated that it is the most significant day in the history of India as on this day the law of the land,the constitution of India came into force after prolong struggle and we became a Republic nation. 

 

This was joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity. He further stressed the people of Doda to work with togetherness for promoting national integration, communal harmony and peace in the district.

 

During his speech, he counted  numerous developmental projects and works undertaken in the district, besides congratulated the people of Doda for their extraordinary cooperation in successfull conduct of BDC Chairman’s election.

 

He said that in PWD (R&B) sector during 2019-2020, 27 number of schemes of roads and bridges have been completed till December 2019 and 57 more such schemes are expected to be completed by March 2020.

 

Under PWD (R&B),the long pending demand of the people of Doda was to start the mega project of widening of Pul Doda-Beoli which is ongoing at a rapid pace and March 2021 is the completion date of this road.Besides this district administration is keenly working on the proposal of construction of Auditorium for Doda,2 tier parking and Sui garhi bridge project is coming soon.

 

While addressing to the huge gathering DC said that under PMGSY there are 174 schemes,out of which 155 have been taken up and 60 stands completed which has added about 456 km road length in the district.

 

Referring to PHE department he informed that Jal Jeevan Mission Har Ghar Nal Se Jal has been recently launched in the district.Six blocks are already identified namely Assar, Marmat,Changa, Chilly,Jakyas and Gandoh.He also ask the BDC Chairman’s,Sarpanches, Panches of these blocks to coordinate with the district administration for 100% coverage of households under this scheme which aims at to provide tap water facility.

 

In respect of irrigation sector 23 schemes have been completed out of the total approved schemes in the district.33 schemes are expected to be completed by March 2020.

 

While counting on the achievements of rural development DC said district administration has successfully completed the two schedules of Back to Village, under which 250 work’s approximately approved and are ongoing in all the 237 panchayats of the district.The total expenditure involved in these works are 670.29 lacs.

 

He also said that out of the total works of B2V,212 works are under RDD,20 works under PDD and 10-12 works are under PHE.

 

Moreover during 2019-2020 under MGNREGA 7426 number of works have been approved out of which 5646 works have been taken up so far and till date 16.31 lakhs have been generated comparatively much better performance from the last year.

 

Complimenting the PDD sector DC said that in comparison to the last year this year the men and machinery of PDD sector has done a commendable job not only in timely restoration during the snowy season but also in reducing the unscheduled curtailment in the district.There was average 12hr cut during the last year winter season but this year it has been reduced to 8hr.

 

Under district plan he said approved funds are Rs 20230.00 lacs against which 11067 works are approved including NABARD, MGNREGA and PMAY, besides this 85 Languishing projects approved by JKIDFC costing to Rs 231.745 crores are ongoing in the district with more than 60% of completion.

 

Further he also informed the general public that big project of Goha Sudhmadev Khaleni tunnel are going to start very soon under 2 phases which includes tunnels and 25km road reducing the journey of Doda Jammu by 2 hour’s.

 

Regarding health sector he said that recently a mega health mela was organised by district administration at Bhaderwah under which scores of patients were registered and were treated and free medicine were issued.

 

Highlighting the achievements of Ayushman Bharat he said against the total targeted beneficiaries which is 123984(targeted families is 25850) 56658 beneficiaries stands registered and golden cards have been generated in favour of 51098 persons and 963 patients have been treated in hospital out of which 855 patients claims have been paid till date.

 

Under RBSK he said that response is satisfactory from education department and health department, because of their close coordination till December 2019 86705 children have been screened and 18685 have been found positive out of which 16914 have been treated for various birth defects.

 

He said that after coming of the GMC Doda quality of health services have improved, number of specialists are working in the GMC which has lessen the public grievances about health.

 

Moreover he also said that the construction of GMC is going on a fast pace and subsidiary courses have been started in the GMC and ensure that classes of MBBS will start soon.

 

Under agriculture sector he said that 55681 farming families have been registered for PM-KISSAN Saman Nidhi Yojana out of which 42818 have started recieving financial assistance.About 41425 families have been availed loan facility under KCC,80000 Soil health cards stands distributed till date and also said that with the cooperation of agriculture department district administration has successfully dispatched the 128.25 MT apple to the outside mandis of Pune,Maharashtra,Delhi etc.

  

Under skill development initiatives at District level a fifteen day training program was conducted at Bhaderwah under which 30 Umeed voulenteers participated and were given training of willow Basket making,Jute bag Making.

 

For more employment generation route permits and cab car permits were issued infavour of unemployed youths besides 120 SHG members trained for cultivation of Aromatic Plants,Soap making and food processing.

 

Under ,Social Welfare department he informed that 31685 eligible persons have been benefitted under various social security schemes,2000 new cases are under sanctioning stage against the 2000 weeding out of beneficiaries.

 

Moreover 94096 LPG connection have been sanctioned across the district and almost 4770 were sanctioned under PM Ujjwala scheme.

 

He further stated that due to the visit of Union ministers various mega projects were inaugrated like water sports centre of Pul Doda,Puneja Bridge constructed by BRO,Girls Hostel at Doda under KGBV and various other road Projects, besides numerous demands of important projects were put forth infront of them like Bhaderwah Ropeway and Khaleni Lal Draman ropeway was important to mention among them.

 

Highlighting other important district level initiatives like Zimedari Ek Ehsaas under which concept of grading was introduced and schools are bearing the fruits of this,the start of DC batch under which free coaching of civil services is being provided to them,the conduct of first ever film festival, besides other initiatives like conduct of cycle rally to promote Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative and fit india movement among the masses.

 

Referring to the regional transport and traffic management DC said that various mock drills are continuously conducted to reduce the fatal road accidents, besides more route permits are provided so that isaue of overloading can be addressed with priority.

 

He also informed the gathering that national artificial insemination program is ongoing in the district and the authorities of animal husbandry are given the targets of 20000,so that its aim and objective can be fulfilled in letter and spirit.

 

At the end of his speech Deputy Commissioner, Doda showered praise towards security forces and congratulated them for working day and night to maintain peace in the district,besides thanks the elected representatives,police, Army, CRPF, SSB,IRP,SDRF, District officials, education department, participants, and media persons for extending sufficient support in organising this national event.

 

He lauded the people of Doda for maintaining peace and communal harmony during the turbulent times and appealed to all people not to fall prey to the vicious designs of anti national people who are trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the district. 

  

Cultural programmes displaying patriotic spirit, rich cultural traditions and ethos were  presented on the occasion by the school children which mesmerized the audience.

 

Main attractions were Display of Tableaus, the bhangra, blindfolded performance by brain development institute, distribution of bicycles to the orphans by a Pune based NGO namely AMHI PUNEKAR,saraji dance organised by cultural department besides other eye catching performances of school students. 

 

Later, Deputy Commissioner Doda, SSP Doda,ADC Doda,SP Operations Doda, distributed  trophies, commendation certificates and mementoes among the Officers /Officials for their exemplary services in different fields besides students for academic excellence,for outstanding performances etc.

 

Similar celebrations were also held at Bhaderwah where ADC Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar unfurled the tricolor,at Block headquarters BDC Chairman’s unfurled the tricolor, besides at different sub divisions/ Tehsil

the Tricolor and took salute at the march past. Besides Cultural programmes

were also presented on the occasion.
