*DDC launched “Back Yard Horticulture” programme in the district,distributed fruit plants among beneficiaries* _Directs the CHO Doda to establish grievance cell for the assistance of orchardists of the district_

District Development Commissioner (DDC)Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today launched the programme called “Back Yard Horticulture” under the scheme Capex 2019-20 in the district.
 
The program was attended by BDC Chairman Ghat, President MC Doda,CHO Doda,DHO Doda,Sarpanch Pranoo,all HDO’s of the district, besides by the large gathering of farmers/beneficiaries.
 
While addressing to the participants DDC said that 7000 families/households are going to be covered across the district.Around 05 number different kind of fruit plants will be given to each household on 90% subsidy.
 
He further stated that the aim of the programme is to bring the small portion of land available around the houses under horticulture crops.
 
Moreover he also appreciated the horticulture department for undertaking this revolutionary step which will not only increase the number of plants across the district benefitting the environment only but also will generate the local economy.
 
He also informed the participants that in the end of 2019 district administration in collaboration with horticulture and agriculture department had successfully managed to sell the produce of local apple growers in outside market of J&K like Pune,Maharashtra at reasonable prices benefitting the local Growers.
 
He also directed the CHO Doda to establish a grievance cell on priority basis and publicise the phone number of grievance cell across the district so that the orchardists of different areas can register their grievances which can be redressed as early as possible.
 
President MC Doda, Sarpanch Pranoo and CHO Doda also addressed the gathering on the occasion and appreciated the program.
 
During the program fruit plants of different kinds were also distributed among the beneficiaries by the DDC Doda alongwith BDC Chairman, President MC Doda,CHO and Sarpanch Pranoo, besides DDC asked the beneficiaries to maintain coordination with the concerned authorities for better understanding of farming techniques.
