_COVID-19 Prevention_ *DDC urges Religious Organizations,Trade Unions,Civil Society member’s to follow precautions* _Appealed them to avoid public gatherings_

District Development Commissioner,Dr Sagar D Doifode today appealed religious organizations,Trade Unions, Civil Society members to follow advisories regarding precautions issued by Jammu and Kashmir Government and District Administration to combat the spread of Novel Coronavirus in the district.
He was chairing a meeting of representatives of religious organizations,Trade Unions, besides civil society members.
Earlier, the DDC educated the participants regarding preventions and precautionary measures including cleanliness,avoiding hugs & handshakes,cleaning hands frequently,using soap and other alcohol based substances and other precautionary measures to avoid the infection.It was followed by a question and answer session and the participants assured full cooperation for the public safety.
The meeting was informed by the DDC regarding prevention and control of Corona virus (COVID-19) that already district administration has took slew of measures to combat the spread of Coronavirus which includes formation of surveillance teams,qrt teams,placing of screening nakas,imparting training to all the stakeholders,disinfection of the public transport vehicles regularly,as well as public offices and places, distribution of awareness pamphlets, establishment of district control room etc.
The meeting was attended by President Municipal Council Ved Prakash Gupta, Councillor’s of different wards,CMO Doda Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shah,MS DH Doda Dr Yaqoob Mir, District Epidemiologist Umar Anayat Khan besides other concerned officers.
The religious organizations were asked to avoid mass gatherings in Temples,Gurudwaras and Mosques.The DDC advised them to make people aware through announcements about the preventive measures to be taken to avert Coronavirus infection.
The participants assured to extend their full support to the administration by following all the advisories/ orders issued by the administration in this regard.
The DDC also appealed the religious leaders to motivate the public to avoid gatherings. He informed that orders have already been issued by administration to reduce or cancel all avoidable gatherings as precautionary measures to combat the spread of the virus.
The DDC also informed that the administration are already spreading mass awareness in rural areas through publicity vans, which move from village to village and aware the people about the preventive measures to be taken to avert Coronavirus infection.
