*District administration kickstarts door to door waste collection campaign in Doda town* _DDC flagged off waste collection vehicles,directed MC authorities to ensure 100% collection of waste as per protocol_

Doda,March 21:

In order to ensure the sanitisation across the Doda town, besides to ensure the collection of waste from the door step of the households as per the protocol i.e in segregated manner dry and wet waste,DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode flagged off two specified vehicles from here today.

 

The others who were present during the program are President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta along with Councillors,EO MC Doda besides other concerned officials of civil administration.

 

Addressing to the media persons DDC said the aim and objective of this campaign is to collect the residential waste from the door step of the households on daily basis in segregated manner,implementing the guidelines of Solid waste management rule in letter and spirit.

 

DDC also urged the general public not to throw the waste generating from the households as well as from the shops in open spaces,appealed them to follow the practice of segregation of waste material in their own houses and shops and then put in these vehicles so that process of decomposition can be done in easy manner.

 

Moreover DDC said that similar activity had been already started in Bhaderwah MC wherein the waste is being collected from the door step of the household and then decomposed as per the guidelines.
