_Amid Coronavirus Threat_ *MGNREGA is going to play pivotal role in employment generation across the district*(DDC) _Directs the authorities to give main focus on distress sections during this pandemic across the district_

The District Administration Doda,under the directions of DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode,in its endeavor to provide succour to the rural labour in the wake of COVID-19,is going to resume number of developmental works in rural parts of the district under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The DDC while speaking to the RDD officials Informed that during this pandemic MGNREGA is going to play an important role in providing the employment to the rural people across the district.
Adding to this the DDC said that as the hundreds of migrant labourers are returning to the district,they are going to stay for a long time here and Mgnrega scheme is going to be the main source of livelihood for them.
DDC while reviewing the present status of number of active job card holders across the district, directed the concerned authorities to increase the number of job card holders, besides asking them to lay special focus on the disadvantaged groups of the district i.e SC’s & ST’s.
Besides DDC directed the officials to identify the priority wards in their respective blocks and accordingly the works shall be taken up in those wards providing maximum benefits to the disadvantaged groups in the rural areas.
ACD Doda Informed the DDC that the plan for the current financial plan has been finalized and stands approved and will be started in the upcoming days,as soon as the plan will be uploaded on secure soft. DDC directed the ACD to upload the plan on secure soft within one week,so that the works will be started without any delay and aslo directed them to complete the target of approved PD’s within the time period of three months.
Besides progress under PMAY-G,Adhaar seeding, Adhaar Based Payment, completion of SOS works, closing of all works physically and financially completed etc were also discussed during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, ACD Doda,Ex En REW,All BDO’S besides other officials of rural development department were also present.
