*DDC holds extensive tour to the Kastigarh Tehsil,interacts with BDC Chairman and Sarpanches,Took stock of the ongoing Developmental activities,lauded the cooperation of people during the lockdown* _Said MGNREGA is going to address the rural distress amid Coronavirus lockdown_

District Development Commissioner,(DDC) Dr Sagar D Doifode holds extensive tour to the Kastigarh Tehsil in order to take stock of the ongoing developmental works in the area, besides to listen the grievances raised by the BDC Chairman and Sarpanches of the area.

 

At the outset the BDC Chairman and Sarpanches congratulated the DDC and whole administration for their commendable job for keeping the district out of danger from the spread of Coronavirus Infection, besides extended the gratitude to the DDC for providing face masks to all the people of the area as a safety measure.

 

During the meeting threadbare discussion held on various important  and key projects besides important decisions were taken on the movement of people in the district from the upper passes amid Coronavirus lockdown.

 

While discussing the unaccounted movement of people from the upper passes and from the areas of adjoining district which can be harmful keeping in view the ongoing Coronavirus threat,the DDC directed the police officers to identify these routes from where people can easily sneak into the territory of the district without proper check, besides asked them to establish strict police nakkas at these routes so that no one can be allowed to enter the territory without proper screening.

 

Reviewing the progress on various road projects,the BDC Chairman and the Sarpanches highlighted various existing roads which requires improvement includes Banjar Morh Shamthi road,Assar to Chill road, besides asked for blacktopping on number of roads includes Saras Kastigarh road via Main market,Chill Gagla road,Ganika Kidal road and Challi Dhandal road via Kuddhar with immediate effect.Also number of link roads were also proposed by the PRI members for which DDC Doda ensured that these will be taken into consideration in the upcoming days.

 

Meanwhile DDC also directed the PWD department to remove the craddle box from the Chill area and to fix the same at Bemina-laloor so that immediate access shall be provided to the people of the concerned area within the fixed timeline.

 

Meanwhile DDC also inspected the NTPHC at Kastigarh and took stock of the facilities available in the health institution,the DDC directed the concerned department to ensure that basic first aid medicines and other important items shall remain available 24*7, besides directed the PWD department to provide the motorable link to the NTPHC within two days positively.

 

Reviewing the status of ration distribution in the area, DDC was informed by the participants that advance ration stands distributed but atta is not yet made available to the people for which DDC assured that in the upcoming days it will be made available,as the flour mills in the udhampur area is not functioning properly amid ongoing Coronavirus lockdown.

 

Besides number of issues were also raised during the meeting which includes installation of electric iron poles, electric metres,start of PHE schemes, completion of  B2V works, payment of land acquisition compensation, restoration of Kastigarh khul, shortage of staff in health, revenue and education department, unscheduled power cuts etc. DDC paid patient hearing to all these issues and assured all of these will be addressed in the upcoming days with utmost priority.

 

While speaking on the occasion DDC lauded the cooperation of the people during the lockdown restrictions, adding to this said that without people’s cooperation it would have not been possible to curb the menace of Covid-19.

 

Addressing to the participants DDC Informed that during the ongoing lock down restrictions amid Coronavirus threat Mgnrega is going to adress the rural distress.He said that the plan has been finalized and rates has been fixed.

DDC was informed by the BDO that the estimation of secure soft is ongoing and near about 150 works are going to start within the week time.

 

DDC also directed the BDO to give special focus on the Sc/St wards of the respective block and to ensure the registration of all the labourers who have returned to the area after being stuck at different locations during the lock down restrictions.

 

The others who were present during the meeting are BDC Chairman Kastigarh, Tehsildar Kastigarh, BDO Kastigarh, besides various Sarpanches of the panchayats and officials of police and civil administration.
