Advisor to Lieutenant Governor UT of J&K, Sh Baseer Ahmed Khan today visited Doda and inspected various works which are being executed and completed by the RDD under MGNREGA, PMAY and other schemes.
 
He met various PRI, ULB representatives, and members of various political parties and listened to their issues.
 
The Advisor during his tour, visited Panchayat Halqa Malhori of Block Khaleni and inspected the ongoing work on C/path from Ragi to Bati.He interacted with the local people to know about the developmental activities going on in the said halqa.He also visited Paryote Halqa and inspected the ongoing work on irrigation pond, sewrage drain and a PMAY house.
 
While interacting with the locals, the Advisor inquired about the pace & quality of work in their receptive area. He directed the concerned department to ensure timely completion of the works and early release of payment to the workers engaged. He advised the workers to adhere to COVID protection SOPs during execution of the work.
 
The Advisor asked the concerned officers to speed up the pace of works to complete these in a stipulated time frame.
 
Moreover the Advisor also visited the Pranu Halqa of Bhalla block wherein he inspected the newly constructed Rural Haat under CD panchayat and MGNREGA and also met with the local farmers who sell their local produce in the newly constructed rural haat.
 
Later, the Advisor met deputations of Tour and travel association, representative’s of various political parties and other concerned. He listened to their demands and assured speedy redressal. The Advisor also met representatives of Urban local Bodies and Panchayats, including BDC Chairpersons and MC President, who projected their grievances.
 
Responding to the demands, the Advisor   assured all possible measures for addressing their grievances at an earliest.
 
Meanwhile, speaking to the delegation’s, the Advisor said that government is committed to support the people at grass root level and ensure speedy redressal of their problems with focus on expediting developmental activities, generation of person days under MGNREGA, upliftment of tourism industry, and containment of COVID-19.
 
Responding to the issue of shortage of staff in RDD, the Advisor informed, that for the smooth running of the RDD, the government has already notified near about 2000 posts of Accounts Assistant on fast track basis which will be imperative for ensuring the smooth management of various accounts related activities of the Panchayats at the grassroot level, besides assured that the vaccant posts of BDO’s will be filled soon and informed that directions have already been passed on to the administrative department for immediate action.
 
*Meanwhile on the eve, a book on ‘Back to Village’ was also unveiled, which highlights the significant performance and achievements of the district for successful completion of the various public welfare works identified under  the ambitious Back to Village program of J&K Govt*
