*Gandagi Mukht Bharat Campaign going in full swing across Doda with overwhelming people Participation* _Plantation drive in various blocks marked the 5th day of the weeklong activities_

DODA, AUGUST 12: The nationwide weeklong behavioral change sanitation campaign “Gandagi Mukht Bharat” is going on across the district in full swing with overwhelming response by the people and today on it’s 5th day, a plantation drive on large level was initiated at different Panchayats here in Doda district.

 

District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode; Assistant Commissioner Development Prem Singh Chib, DPO Doda Mohd Idrees lone and BDOs are monitoring the activities being undertaken across length and breadth of the district as a mission to achieve a goal of neat and clean society.

 

A plastic collection and segregation campaign led by Sarpanchs,was also undertaken in the district at various blocks/panchayat level with enthusiastic people participation.

 

The field functionaries, in collaboration with PRIs, cleaned the government offices, public places, streets and institutions. White washing of Panchayat Ghars, toilets and community sanitary complexes also formed the part of the campaign since it has been kickstarted in the district.

 

All the activities of the Campaign have been planned keeping in view all the Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines prescribed  by the government for containment of spread of  COVID-19.

 

During the ongoing week long campaign, special Swachhta initiatives in rural areas to re-enforce the ‘Jan Andolan’ for ‘Swachhta’ and to promote positive behavioral change towards sanitation and hygiene have been scheduled,the DPO added.

 

The PRI members in coordination with the concerned field functionaries also motivated the local people of their Panchayats for keeping their surroundings neat and clean. They also appealed the local people to come out of their homes and actively participate in week long programme by following all COVID-19 guidelines.
