*DDC reviews the drinking water situation of the district* _Stresses on making fool-proof action plan to mitigate the water supply crises_

District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode chaired a meeting of concerned officers to take stock of the water crises like situation looming due to dry season and no rainfall in nearly past 3 months.
 
During the meeting, the DDC reviewed the functioning of Water Supply Schemes, Irrigation schemes, and other related issues to be affected by deficit rainfall across the district.
 
It has been apprised to the DDC through statistics that in the month of June only 33.1 mm rainfall has been recorded in the district against 111mm average rainfall, 75 mm in the month of July against 163 mm, besides 63 mm has been recorded in the month of August against 138 mm.
 
DDC Doda directed the concerned Officers to make necessary alternative arrangements to address the water stress of the affected areas, besides to mitigate portable water supply crises in affected areas, the DDC instructed concerned to use water tankers and ensure continuous supply to the residents in these areas.
 
The DDC also directed the RDD to repair hand pumps facilities in the rural areas so that the issue of water supply shortage can be addressed with utmost priority .
 
DDC also urged people to ensure judicious use of water to ensure there is no scarcity anywhere.
