*Developmental tempo expedited in Doda* _Work on numerous R&B and PMGSY work’s ongoing in full swing across the district_

Following the directions of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor UT of J&K Sh Manoj Sinha, to ensure quicker completion of various projects DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode has directed the Public Works (R&B) and PMGSY departments of district Doda to increase men and machinery on all ongoing projects to ensure timely completion of all targeted projects of R&B and PMGSY department under implementation in the district. 
 
It has been given out by the official that the department’s have resumed work on numerous roads and buildings which were halted due to covid-19 restrictions and the district has now adopted a robust approach to complete the targeted projects within the set time frame. “The work on major and small projects is ongoing in full swing with strict daily monitoring mechanism in place, the official said.
 
Giving details of the works under execution, it has been given out that under languishing, the department has total  31 projects approved at a cost of Rs. 64.46 crore out of which the work on 3 roads and 5 bridge’s stands completed at an estimated cost of Rs 411.39 lacs.
 
“Under the languishing projects, five bridges (Lamote dranga bhaderwah,bridge over chilli nallah at Chowan, over Chansar nallah at Mandhan,at Bhagat Mohalla bisran and at koti nallah including 3 roads namely gatha gwari link road and its extension, Chamba to Akhroot bagh and BT work on Chakka to upper Dandi stand completed. The department is also eyeing to complete the rest of the ongoing works under the stipulated time frame as many of them have recorded more than 70% of physical progress and shall be completed during the current year,” the official said.
 
With regard to upgradation of educational infrastructure, the concerned authorities said that R&B division Doda,Bhaderwah and Gandoh has also taken up 4 important project’s under the RAMSA Scheme for the construction of 100 beded girls hostel’s out of which 2 stands completed at an estimated cost of 282.15 lakh for each , besides one at Kastigarh, the work is ongoing,the walls are nearing completion and at sinoo the structure of ground floor is completed ,plaster work is ongoing and the masonry work on first floor is ongoing,near completion and shall be completed during the current financial year.
 
The Doda division is also constructing a 100 bedded OBC hostel at Doda at an approved project cost of Rs.325.00 lakh, the Project is on finishing levels and will be completed under the stipulated time frame.
 
Regarding under construction GMC Doda it has been informed that majority of the structural part  has been completed with the total expenditure of 5759.97 lacs till now, besides 35% physical progress has been recorded with regard to the ongoing construction of teaching hospital at Doda which is being constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 30 Cr.
 
It has been also informed that the R&B Department is also executing many other projects in different schemes like CRF NABARD,City and town, State sector roads and bridges, with huge amount of approved estimated cost to create new infrastructure in the district and to provide better road connectivity to the people of the district.
 
While giving the component wise details of work progress on various roads under construction in PMGSY sector ,it has been informed that the total approved length for the district is 807.78 km out of which 259.225 km of road has been blacktopped,341.98 km length has been mettaled, the shingled length is 474.30 km, besides 678.357 km length of fair weather road has been achieved across the district.
 
Moreover regarding the progress of ongoing works under PMGSY sector,it has been given out that under PMGSY there are 176 schemes,out of which 169 have been taken up and 67 stands completed,adding to this the official said that out of 258 no.of habitations proposed to be covered,225 habitations has been covered till date.
 
It has been stated by the DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode that the district administration is committed to complete all the projects within stipulated time frame while ensuring quality work to add a new chapter of progress and development in the district.
