*National Girl Child Week under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao kick started in Doda* _ADC Doda flagged off awareness rally, stressed to ensure agressive awareness about the noble program_

Doda, January 23:

District administration Doda, under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode,  today kick started the celebration of the National Girl Child Week under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign by organising an awareness rally in collaborations with ICDS and Health department.

 

In this regard, the ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma flagged off the awareness rally from Sports Stadium Doda in which around 500 stakeholders i.e students from various institutions,  including Asha and Anganwadi workers participated which went through main market and culminated at Boy’s Hr Sec School Doda.

 

The participants were carrying Banners, playcards, besides chanted the slogans regarding the program.

 

At main venue various key note speakers from differnet schools, Mahila Shakti Kendra, One Stop Centre and ICDS spoke in length about the various issues which includes Health and Nutrition, highlighted the provisions of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act(PC and PNDT Act),The Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act(MTP) etc, besides students also displayed a skit on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) theme.

 

On the occasion, ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma highlighted the role that Girl Child plays in society besides discussed the issues/challenges they are facing and way forward for improvement of sex ratio and education status of girl child in society.

 

The ADC informed that series of events are going to be organised in the upcoming days which includes Drawing and Painting, Slogan Writing, Poetry competition, talk show etc, besides urged all the stakeholders to ensure agressive awareness about the program in all areas of the district so that the main objectives of the program shall be achieved on priority basis.

 

Pertinent to mention, that similar programs also held at sub division and block levels of the district in which ASHA and Anganwadi workers, besides other concerned stakeholders participated.

 

The others present during the program are PO ICDS Shahida Parveen, DIO Doda Mohd Ashraf Wani, DSWO Doda Zubair Ahmed Lone, DY SP DAR Shoket Ahmed, besides officials of MSK,OSC, Childline Doda,ICPS and CDPO Office Doda also attended the program
