*Doda Admin hosts e-launch program on Jal Shakti Abhiyan:Catch the Rain campaign on World Water Day* *DC Doda stressed to formulate comprehensive long term strategy to conserve water resources for future existence of mankind* *Afforestation, Aggressive awareness and proper management of water resources is the prime responsibility of every citizen* (DDC Chairperson)

To mark the world water day and launch of Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign, the district administration Doda today hosts e-launch program at community hall Doda.

 

The campaign was launched by Hon’ble PM of India Sh Narendra Modi virtually and pledge was administered to the participants through virtual mode by the Hon’ble LG UT of J&K Sh Manoj Sinha.

 

DDC Chairperson Doda Sh Dhananter Singh Kotwal,Vice Chairperson Doda Smt Sangeeta Rani Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma, DDC member Thathri Sandeep Singh, DDC member Changa Nadeem Sharief Naz, President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, DFO Doda Navneet Singh,CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, ACD Doda Prem Singh Chib, ACR Doda Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, besides PRI members,ULB representative’s and District and Sectoral Officers were also present during the program.

 

During the program Nukkad item on water conservation theme was also presented before the participants, besides experts highlighted the  importance of water in individuals lives and informed what shall happen to the human existence if it is not conserved properly.

 

Speaking on the occasion the DC informed that today Hon’ble PM Modi, on World Water Day, launched the ‘Catch the Rain’ Movement which like in other parts of the country will took place across the district Doda also in the upcoming day till the end of monsoon season based on the theme of ‘catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls.’ to strengthen the water conservation efforts in the district.” 

 

The DC said that the essence of the campaign will be spreading awareness and implementation of the rainwater harvesting system in the grassroot level across the district.

 

Further speaking the DC  said that we have to formulate comprehensive long term strategy to conserve our water resources for the future generation existence as well as to conserve the traditional water bodies across the district on priority basis.

 

The DC Doda asked the concerned to formulate the comprehensive plans and strategies regarding the objectives of the campaign in coordination with the Panchayats, besides directed to evaluate mechanism how to conserve the rain water during the upcoming monsoon season.

 

Moreover the DC also appealed all the people to follow the Covid-19 safety measures in letter and spirit, besides urged to wear the face mask compulsorly.

 

The DDC Chairperson while speaking said that the behavioural change in the mindset as well as the afforestation, proper management of water resources and agressive awareness about the importance of water shall be taken into account and shall be prime responsibility of each and every citizen for the successful implementation of the campaign.

 

Similar program including pledge ceremony were also observed across the district.
