*International Women Day Celebrated at Doda with great enthusiasm and Zeal* _Cultural programs, display of skit items, felicitation of women achievers, open discussion on women issues mark the celebration of International women’s day_

The International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal at Town Hall Doda here today.

 

On the eve of International Women’s Day, District Administration Doda in collaboration with District Level Centre for Women(MSK) Doda, Childline Doda and other Allied departments organised a program on the this year theme which is”Lets All Choose To Challenge”.

 

The event was attended by women from all walks of life and kids.

 

ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma presided over the function as Chief Guest,While Mrs Sonali Sagar Doifode was the Special Guest of Honour on the occasion.

 

Among others present during the program PO ICDS Shahida Parveen, Joint Director Planning (CPO) Parshotam Kumar,SP Operation Raj kumar,CEO Doda Tanveer Ahmad Wani, ASP Doda Master Popsy, DIO Mohd Ashraf Wani,EO MC Doda, District Coordinator MSK Humerah Balwan and Saniya Khan,District Coordinator Childline Meenakshi Raina, besides Supervisors of ICDS Department,anganwari workers/ helpers attended the programme.

 

Cultural programme, skits highlighting women related issues and speeches on gender discrimination, laws and initiatives taken by Govt to empower women were main highlights of the programme.

 

The ADC Doda, while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role and importance of women in nation building. He said Doda district has done well in Beti Bachao Beti Padhao by organising series of activities and it is achieved due to active participation of all stakeholders especially women folk.

 

Mrs Sonali Sagar appreciated the Mahila Shakti Kendra for organising the event, besides said that women’s can be empowered only by the active participation of the women itself,urged them to come forward, besides informed that Govt as well as district administration are taking various initiatives and are implementing various programs to uplift the status of women  equal to the men.

 

ASP Doda and other speakers also spoke in length and breadth regarding women issues and how they can be addressed to make the society where both the gender can be treated as equal.

 

Later on various women achievers were felicitated on the occasion who have excelled in the field of social activism, education,singing etc, besides the participants were also felicitated by the concerned.
