The first of its kind adventure sports event viz Chenab White Water Rafting Festival organised by the district administration under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode in coordination with BDA and JK Adventure group today culminated at Premnagar Shibnote with great enthusiasm and on a overwhelming response from the people of Doda.

 

Around 1500 people across the district especially young generation attended the festival at day 2 and more than 150 participated in the rafting trip from Premnagar Shibnote to Karara.

 

The DC Doda alongwith CO 10RR, besides young generation from various areas of the district participated in the event on 2nd day and also took rafting ride.

 

It has been given out that apart from the rafting program,the district administration has organised multifarious activities at the venue for the enjoyment of the locals which includes volleyball matches, kabaddi, free style wrestling, dance performances by locals etc.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that the whole program of rafting was conducted under strict standards of safety measures and without any incidence. The people especially the youth of the district enjoyed the entire event.

 

The participants extended gratitude to the district administration Doda especially DC Doda for taking persistence efforts to organise such youth engagement programme in the district, besides urged to organise such programs in the near future also.

 

The DC speaking on the occasion informed that seeing this kind of overwhelming response from the people, it will be made a routine affair in the upcoming days also for the enjoyment of the people especially young generation.

 

Among others present during the festival were ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, SP Bhaderwah Raj Singh Gouria, SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar, Treasury Officer Bhaderwah Sameer Ul Rehman, Dy Registrar Cooperatives Adil Iqbal Lone, besides senior officers from civil as well as police  administration.
