*DC Doda holds interaction session with elected representatives of MC Doda,took first hand appraisal of major issues of Doda township* _Calls for collective efforts to resolve general public issues on priority for the comfort of the residents of the town_

In continuation to its effort to make better understanding of issues being faced by the locals of the Doda town, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vikas Sharma today held an interactive session with the elected members of Municipal Council Doda here in the conference hall of DC office Doda.

 

During the interaction the members highlighted major issues of the town which includes heavy congestion especially in and around bus stand, delay practice of tendering of MC works, illegal parking of load carriers at bus stand Doda, parking of SRTC and Private buses at Bus stand, unloading of goods coming from Jammu at bus stand Doda leading congestion, working immovable rehris at bus stand, slow pace on widening of Pul Doda-Beoli road, dilapidated condition of adjoining roads of town, nuisance caused by stray cattles, dogs and monkeys, permanent posting of JEs and supervisor at the disposal of MC etc.

 

The DC sought suggestions from the council how to overcome of these issues, besides took stock of the implementation of PMAY-U scheme, My Town My Pride program, functioning of SWMP, besides status of works approved under district capex and languishing.

 

Regarding decongestion at bus stand the DC directed the EO MC to draft a site plan covering all the major components including parking of vehicles, rehris etc in coordination with Ex En PWD and to submit the same within days to the DC office on priority for comprehensive planning.

 

EO MC Doda was directed to issue licence to all the functioning rehris, to paste identification mark on the licensed rehri, also asked him to make roster of rehris owners to station their Rehris in bus stand on periodical basis, besides directed the EO MC to immediately take out all the load carriers selling their goods in bus stand causing traffic jam and inconvenience to the commuters.

 

Regarding ongoing works the DC directed the EO MC to ensure regular monitoring and supervision, besides asked him to be in regular touch with the executive agencies for the timely initiation of tendering process, besides asked him to direct the concerned JEs of housing board to station at Doda town twice in a week for the speedy completion of ongoing PMAY-U houses.

 

Moreover the DC asked the CPO Doda to get the latest factual position of the title verification of land pending in tehsildar Office from the ACR Doda and to submit the same to the DC office.

 

With regard to nuisance caused by stray dogs, cattles and monkeys, the DC asked the planning section to call for a meeting with the concerned authorities so that viable plan shall be devised to deal with the issue.

 

The DC directed the EO MC Doda to work with added zeal and enthusiasm and to implement all the directions in letter and spirit on the ground level for the desired results.

 

He also sought greater coordination and cooperation from the members of MC Doda so that the genuine issues causing inconvenience to the locals shall be resolved with utmost sincerity and dedication.

 

Among others present during the meeting are President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, Vice President MC Doda Mazhar Ul Haq Munshi, besides other Councillors were also present.
