*Ramadan,Navratra arrangements finalised at Doda* _DDC stresses for strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs_ *Directs all stakeholders to instensify market checking during the ensuing festivities*

The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Doda, Vikas Sharma today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review and finalize the arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramadan and Navratra.
 
The SSP Doda, SP operations, ASP Doda, CPO, ACR, CMO,  Tehsildar Doda, DIO Doda, Dy SP DAR, ARTO, MC Councillors, EO MC, AD FCS &CA, Ex En PWD,  PDD, PDO, SHO, DSHO, besides the religious organisations which includes Seerat committee, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Beopar Mandal, Vice President fruits and Vegetable association, President Chicken association and other stakeholders were also present in the meeting.
 
While addressing the meeting, the DDC instructed the officers as well as all stakeholders to ensure strict adherence as well as implementation of Covid-19 SOPs at all religious places, and public places including market area.
 
The DDC directed the CMO to intensify the Covid-19 testing of vulnerable shopkeepers which includes barbers, Vegetable sellers, mutton and chicken shopkeepers, grocery store on priority basis, besides asked all the stakeholders as well as executive agencies to generate more awareness regarding covid SOPs which includes wearing of face mask, maintaining social distance, avoiding large gatherings, adding to this directed the concerned to put penalty upon those who will be found violating the necessary protocols.
 
He also directed the ACR Doda for the constitution of special market checking squads to keep check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers, besides asked them to ensure that there shall be no shortage of essential commodities in the market.
 
Stressing on the uninterrupted power and water supply across the district, the DDC asked PDD and PHE departments to ensure hassle free water and electricity supply to the consumers during the month of Ramadan especially at the Sehri and Iftar times.
 
Emphasizing on the sanitation of towns and municipality areas, the DDC directed Executive officer of Municipal Council to ensure cleanliness in the district with focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets.
 
Several issues were also raised during the meeting by the stakeholders,among which the congestion in the town, repair of footpaths and street’s, implementation of schedule rates of essential commodities, fixing leakages from the water pipes, creation of recreational parks etc were the major highlights.
 
Responding to the issue of de congestion, the DDC informed all the stakeholders that various measures have been already identified which includes identification of additional stands for auto’s and buses, removal of load carriers from bus stand, installation of fixed rate list of fare at each identified locations, identification of additional parking places, periodical shift of rehris and autos etc.
 
The DDC directed the ARTO, EO MC and Traffic department to ensure the implementation of directions on ground level in letter and spirit and shall review the same within the next ten days, besides asked them to apply rationality while formulation of other plans causing minimum in convenience to the general public.
 
The DDC assured the participants that all the necessary measures shall be taken into account to end the congestion issue in Doda town, and seeks  support from them also.
