*ADC Doda reviews implementation of ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’* _Directed the concerned executing department to work in mission mode so that the benefit can reach to general public of the district_

Doda, July 13:On the direction of DDC Doda Vikas Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda (ADC) Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti, today convened a meeting of concerned officers and reviewed the implementation of “Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)- “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal” in the district.

 

The meeting was attended by CPO Doda, ACD Doda, DIO Doda, Xen Jal Shakti Division Doda, Xen Jal Shakti Division Gandoh, Xen Jal Shakti Division Kishtwar and TO to XEN Jal Shakti Division Doda.

 

ADC was apprised that our district shall be taken in phase IInd, however works amounting to rupees less than one crore have been allowed to take up. 250 schemes have been identified in the district with 350 crore rupees allocation. 

Further 39 schemes of Gandoh Division which are less than 1 crore individually have been sent to Technical Assessment Committee (TAC). Out of the above 39 schemes 10 have been sanctioned by TAC and are in tendering process.

 

Regarding repair of hand pumps in the district it was apprised that fund have been transferred to concerned authorities by ACD Doda. ADC directed the authorities to work out the number of such pumps which need repairing and restore them and make them functional as soon as possible.

 

ADC directed all the concerned to adhere the guidelines as envisaged under Jal Jeevan Mission Action Plan. He added that the Jal Jeevan Mission is aimed at providing 100% tapped water to all households. 

 

He further directed the officers of Jal Shakti Department Doda (Xen Doda) to put up the proposal of establishment of Jal Shakti Kendra in the District and also move the proposal for hiring the services of IT professional so that the Jal Shakti Kendra be made functional in the District as per the guidelines and for better implementation of the JJM.
