*DDC conducted whirlwind tour of Doda town,inspects the works ongoing within the vicinity of MC Doda* _Directs executing agencies to maintain quality on each work, MC Officials to ensure cleanliness of streets as well as in open public places on priority_

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda,Vikas Sharma today conducted the whirlwind tour of Doda town including market places to inspect the ongoing works, besides to take the first hand appraisal of other issues.
 
During the tour the DDC visited various municipal wards covering major areas of the town which includes old bus stand, Eid Gah mohalla, Astan mohalla, Nagri, Barath Road, Degree college, Ganpat junction etc.
 
While inspecting the clogged drains at old bus stand Doda the DDC directed the EO MC, Ex En PHE and PWD to make integrated efforts to de-clogg the drains, besides asked to maintain cleanliness of streets as well of public places including market area without any delay.
 
The DDC also directed the EO MC to take two wards on pilot project basis wherein the cleanliness shall be ensured in the night hours so that people should have neat and clean streets in the morning and after reviewing the response the system shall be replicated in the entire township.
 
The DDC also asked the Councillors to hold awareness programs regarding sanitation and cleanliness in their respective areas so that collectively we shall ensure the neat and clean streets and market places around us, besides to generate civic sense among the locals not to throw the garbage in the open areas for their own safety and hygiene.
 
The DDC also inspected various ongoing works being executed by the PWD department at various locations, for which the DDC directed to maintain quality on each work besides to ensure grouting shall be done simultaneously so that nobody shall get harmed while walking in these streets.
 
With regard to the congestion the DDC directed the ARTO to sensitise the people living in the adjoining areas for the private paid parking to utilise the parking lot and not to park their vehicles in the market or infront of the shops, besides asked the MVD and traffic department to visit the town twice a day so that it shall be regulated.
 
Moreover the DDC directed the MVD to write to the RTO Jammu that no vehicle shall be allowed to be purchased from district Doda unless the applicant shall produce the NOC duly signed by concerned ARTO that the consumer has the parking facility.
 
While assessing the drainage issue at Nagri, the DDC asked the Principal degree college and executing agencies to settle down the deadlock in coordination with the MC so that drain shall be allowed to be made functional, besides asked the concerned to construct the drain end to end so that college property shall also be not damaged on priority basis.
 
Further the DDC inspected the junction near Nagri JK bank branch wherein some wrong errection of electric poles causes traffic jam, the DDC directed the PDD Officers to make the necessary arrangements so that inconvenience to the public shall be addressed on priority basis, in addition to this the DDC also directed the SHO Doda to take strict action against those who are dumping the material along the roadside at Ganpat bridge causing problems to park the public transport.
 
The DDC was accompanied by President MC Doda, Councillors, ARTO Doda, EO MC Doda, Ex En PHE, PWD, AEE PDD, besides other officers of traffic and engineering department.
