*DDC Doda reviews the working of Bhadarwah Development Authority and developmental issues.* -Directs for time-bound issuance of NOCs and Building Permissions and publicizing Master Plan, besides initiating process for its review -Asks for submission of DPRs for development of amenities and Maintenance of Jai valley, Padri, Khallani Top, Ghata, Gupt Ganga and other tourist locations.

As a part of the ongoing out reach program of the District Administration and to bring administration at the doorstep of the public for addressing their grievances, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Vikas Sharma yesterday conducted a tour of Bhaderwah area of Doda district and held a meeting of officers at Dak Bungalow Bhadarwah. He also met various deputations including Tour and Travel Agency, Hoteliers

 

During the course of the daylong review, DC Doda reviewed the functioning of BDA and various sectors including PHE, PWD, RDD, PDD, MC, PMGSY and Forest, departments. CEO BDA gave a detailed Power Point Presentation of the working of the BDA. He was advised to take up the matter with the Tourism Department regarding the deputation of officers for filling up various posts, which are since long lying vacant. Instructions were issued to submit DPRs for development of amenities and Maintenance of Jai valley, Padri, Khallani, Ghata, Gupt Ganga and other tourist locations within a week.

Directions were also issued for submission of revenue generating assets and conduct of Audit of the Agency. DC directed for time-bound issuance of NOCs by the line departments and building Permissions and publicizing Master Plan, besides initiating process for its review. He asked CEO BDA to convene the meeting of BOCA immediately. He was also directed to publicize the tourist areas and install information Hoardings at various places.

DC Doda also reviewed the action taken by various departments on the directions passed on in previous meetings/tours. It was informed that the Pul Doda-Bhaderwah Road and Ghata Road shall be taken up for black-topping in September. Directions were issued for pursuing the construction of Bhaderwah Revenue complex under languishing Project. Xen PWD was directed to vigorously follow up the Padri Road maintenance /removal of slips/boulders with the Administrative department. 

 

The major yatras, socio-cultural and religious festivals in the area were also discussed in the meeting. A deputation of Tour and Travel Agency, Hoteliers demanded implementation of Master Plan, commencing work on Chattergala –Suez link and privatization of TRC Dandi and chopper services to various tourist spots on high altitudes where road connectivity is not available like Seojdhar , Kailash and BhalPadri to meet the requirements of general public. They also raised the issue of Sound and light project at Bhadarwah Fort. The DDC assured that the issues raised shall be addressed by the concerned authorities on priority basis. On receiving complaint on muck dumping in the river/nallah at Nalthi while executing bridge work by GREF, instructions were issued to GREF, ADC, Fisheries, I&FC departments. 

 

ADC Bhaderwah and SP Bhaderwah were asked to ensure that action for removal of encroachment on roads and parking on road-side is strictly taken to accomplish traffic decongestion. During the visit at Seri Park, instructions were issued to speed up the work and complete the tile work, installation of sitting benches, ornamental lights within a week. DC Doda earlier in the morning conducted surprise inspection of SDH Bhaderwah, inspected BDA office, District Jail, Ghata park and Gupt Ganga area. 

 

The meeting was attended by ADC Bhaderwah, DFO Bhaderwah,Tehsildar Bhaderwah, Executive Officer M.C Bhadarwah Ex En PWD, PHE, I&FC, BMO Bhaderwah, besides other officers/officials of various departments were also present.
