*Agriculture and Farmers Welfare department Doda organises awareness camp for Women Food Security groups*

An awareness camp of women food security group was organised by department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Doda at Misrata village Zone Bhalra Tehsil Bhaderwah today .
The programme was organised under SMAE (ATMA) scheme in which about 25 women farmers of Misrata and adjoining areas attended the programme.
SDAO Pranoo Kuldeep Raj Bhasan gave the welcome address and spoke about the different schemes being implemented under his jurisdiction.
Assistant Soil Chemist Ms Zareena spoke about the importance of soil testing and advised the farmers to go for cultivation only after testing their soils,in addition to this the Apiculture officer Rajeshwar Singh spoke about the importance of beekeeping and advised the women farmers to go for it as it can help them to increase their income.
Area marketing officer Doda Sunil Singh spoke about the schemes run by their department.
Progressive farmer Abdul Gaffar also spoke on the occasion and gave a detailed lecture regarding lavender and other medicinal plants cultivation and also appreciated the department for its work.
Haroon Hussain District Agriculture officer gave the presidential address and spoke in length about the different schemes run for the betterment of farming community.He advised the farmers to go for mushroom cultivation as it can help them to double their farm income.
Sarpanch Misrata presented the vote of thanks and advised the farmers to take the benefit of different schemes.At the end agriculture implement and growth regulators were also distributed among the women farmers present on the occasion.
Incharge AEO Ajay Kotwal conducted the proceeding of programme.Apart from above JAEO Arif Sajjad,Rita Kotwal and other staff members were present on the occasion.
