_Good Governance Week_*DDC Doda reviews the functioning of MC Doda, took stock of the works under execution and bottlenecks* _Directs ARTO to issue circular for parking vehicles in nearby parking facility_ *Says administration is going to act tough against all traffic violations in next upcoming days for streamlining the traffic issue*

District Development Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today chaired the meeting of MC councillors alongwith the key Officials of various line departments here in the DC office to review its functioning, besides to issue instructions on the bottlenecks if any which effect the smooth functioning of institution.

 

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held with regard to the status of all the ongoing works, reviewed the reasons of the projects being held up, traffic congestion, besides discussed the measures to resolve the other issues with regard to the MC which includes nuisance of stray cattles, animals, operation of illegal Rehris, shortage of technical staff, revisiting the design of multi level car parking, installation of solar and street lights, allotment of additional funds, payment of pending PMAY installments, declogging of choked drains, shifting of water Pipelines from the nallahs/drains etc.

 

With regard to the upcoming Multi level car parking facility in Doda, the DDC directed the concerned executing department to share the preliminary design with all the Councillors immediately so that their view point shall also be taken into course before the execution of the work and framing of working design, besides said that the project shall include all the necessary components in advance so that it shall be executed in hassle free manner whenever it will be started.

 

With regard to the shortage of technical staff the DDC directed the Ex En PWD to engage a dedicated JE immediately at the disposal of MC, besides asked them to declog the drains which have been identified by the Councillors as choked one.

 

Regarding stray animal/cattle issue the DDC have asked the MC President to identify a patch of land in adjoining which will be handed over to them for the creation of cattle shed, besides asked the planning section to call the stakeholders from wildlife department so that issue of monkey nuisance will be discussed with them in detail and solution could be reached out.

 

Moreover ARTO Doda have been asked to issue a circular citing all the paid parkings of Doda town along with the locations so that people will be informed in advance to park their vehicles in their nearby parkings, because in next few days tough action is going to be initiated against all the illegal parking, besides asked EO MC, ARTO and Dy SP traffic to remove all the load carriers standing in the Bus stand causing traffic jams and also directed the ARTO to cancel the licence of the driver immediately who does not comply the directions in this regard.

 

Further the DDC directed the EO MC to identify and remove all the illegal Rehris and asked to frame a rotation module for all the rehris particularly in the adjoining areas of the town so that traffic congestion shall be managed, besides asked ARTO to implement the rotation policy for the autorickshaws also.

 

In addition the DDC directed PHE department to streamline the dessa gravity by way of removing all the pending patches, besides asked the EO to submit the list of PMAY houses councillor wise so that the issue of pending payments will be atken with the concerned authorities, and also asked the Councillors to give a comprehensive project details of the important works so that they shall also be discussed with the higher authorities.

 

The meeting was attended by President MC Doda, ADC Doda, VP MC Doda, CPO Doda, Councillors, SE PWD, CAHO, CEO, Dy SP traffic, Ex En PDD, PWD, EO MC Doda, besides other officials of various line departments.
