*Drugs & Food Control Organization in coordination with GMC Doda organizes awareness programme PMBJP at Doda.*

Doda, December 15: Drugs and Food Control Organization, Jammu and Kashmir in coordination with Government Medical College, Doda organized awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana at Make Shift Campus of GMC Doda.
State Drugs Controller J&K, Lotika Khajuria was the chief guest & Prof Dr Noor Ali, Principal, GMC, Doda was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Among others, Chief Medical Officer, Doda ; Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Doda, Doctors of GMC, Doda , Assistant Drugs Controllers of Jammu Province, Block Medical Officers of all blocks, Drugs Control Officers, Paramedical Staff , representatives of Jan Aushadi Kendras attended the said programme.
In its Endeavour to achieve the objectives of making available quality generic medicines at affordable price to all, a mega awareness program was conducted under the supervision of Mtr Farida Parveen, Assistant Drug Controller (Doda/Kishtwar) Iqbal Palla, Assistant Drug Controller, Jammu and Smt Renuka Raina, Assistant Drug Controller (Ramban ) & State Project Coordinator for Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana Dr Rifat Jan.
While briefing the media, State Drug Controller informed that the prime objectives of the awareness program is to provide access to affordable medicines to the poor & they may not lose their lives because of lack of medicines. That is why Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been planned across J&K UT.
She emphasized that this flagship program should reach to common man so that they may be able to reap the benefits of the scheme. She reiterated that the Jan Aushadhi medicines of equitable quality, purity & strength in comparison to branded medicines shall be available at a much lower rates to the general public.
On the occasion, Doctors & Drug Control Officers took a pledge that the scheme objective should percolate to masses to lessen their burden /expenditure on medicines.
Under the scheme, dedicated outlets known as Jan Aushadhi Kendras are opened to provide generic medicines at affordable rates with quality & efficiency at par with branded medicine.
It was impressed upon the Doctors to prescribe medicine available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra as it will benefit more marginalized and underprivileged families.
Dr Ashraf Ali Khan , HOD , Biochemistry also spoke on the occasion and said that availability of medicine in Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra at affordable rates are available for general public and this schemes has benefited many people and there is a need to open more Jan Aushadhi Pharmacies in other areas of the Doda District.
Among others, State Project Coordinator/Nodal Officer for Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBI) , Chief Medical Officer Doda , Medical Superintendent, Block Medical Officers , Assistant Controller Drugs Jammu, Doctors, Drugs Control Officers , Students, Patients and Pharmacists attended the programme.
