*DC Doda chairs DSC meeting.* _Stresses of linking training centres with industries and business units for practical exposure of trainees._ *Directs ADCs, SDMs to inspect and submit findings on private institutions imparting skill training under PMKVY.*

Doda, January 6; District Development Commissioner Doda  Vikas Sharma, who is also Chairman of the District Skill Committee Doda, today chaired the meeting of the members of District Skill Committee here in Mini Meeting hall of DC office complex Doda.

 

On the outset, Chairman was briefed about the District Skill Plan and various Skill Development courses with institutions available  for the youth in the district. Mr Manujinder Singh who is Mahatma National Gandhi Fellow (MGNF) for District Doda presented a detailed report on objectives and plan of action for Skill up-gradation and handholding of Skilled youth in the district. He also presented the sketch of courses run under PMKVY  by Government and private institutes in the district.

 

It was decided in the meeting that MGF shall work out the total number of skilled manpower unemployed in the district taking help of line departments, and shall work out the plan for their handholding. He was also directed to create a cluster in the district website for Skill upliftment related activities. 

 

DC directed the ADC Doda, ADC Bhaderwah and all the SDMs to inspect the working of various private institutes running in their jurisdiction who impart Skill development training under PMKVY and submit the report on their working. He directed  the heads of all the ITIs and Principal Polytechnic College Doda to ensure the practical exposure of trainees to the industries and business units so that they remain updated with the latest technologies and can be able to fit in their  job profile for better earning of livelihood.

 

DC further directed to utilise the services of Mentors of Youth Clubs to mobilise the youth for job oriented  short term courses. He also asked all the departments involved in providing Skill training in the district to provide the list of beneficiaries given training during last year and their present job status so that the relevance of the courses provided can be understood for future planning.

 

The meeting was attended by CPO Doda, CAO Doda, CHO Doda, DSWO Doda, DIO Doda, DEPO Doda, ALC Doda, AD Handicrafts Doda, Functional Manager DIC Doda, Principal Polytechnic Doda, Superintendent ITI Doda, LBM, District Manager SC/ ST Dev corporation, MNF Skill Development and representatives of the line departments.
