*ADC Doda reviews Implementation of District Environmental Plan*

Doda,January 12: Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr R K Bharti reviewed Implementation of District Environmental Plan in Doda here in his office chamber at DC Office complex Doda.
Threadbare discussion was held regarding action taken on execution of DEP in the district by different departments, which include Solid Waste management, Plastic waste management, Bio-medical Waste Management, Domestic Sewage Management and Water Waste Management etc.
It was informed that MC Doda has started execution of Material Requirement Facilities for Solid Waste Management plant, similarly for Bhaderwah the establishment of solid waste management plant is at tendering process, while the land for the establishment of Solid waste management plant at Thathri has been transferred to the concerned authorities and shall be tendered soon.
It was also revealed that MC Bhaderwah has conducted an awareness program on Plastic waste and use of Polythene Bags above 75 microns.
MC Bhaderwah has also seized 34 kg of Polythene during the said program.
It was also put before the committee that forest department has planted 35000 saplings during last month in the district under “One Beat Guard One village” program.
Regarding water conservation, the ADC directed the concerned stakeholders to ensure that water harvesting ponds are constructed in rural areas and the water bodies are not exposed to pollution in the District.
