*DDC Doda reviews the arrangements for Winter Skiing in Bhaderwah and “Sansad Khel Spardha”* _Tourism, BDA, Army, JIM, YSS, and other stakeholders urged to make the joint collaboration a success. Directions issued for immediate construction of Complex for Jawahar Institute of mountaineering in Bhaderwah_

District Development Commissioner Doda,Vikas Sharma chaired a meeting of key officials of different departments at Dak Bungalow Bhadarwah to discuss the modalities and arrangements to be put in place in advance for ‘Sansad Khel Spardha’ a national initiative to identify the local talent in different sports activities so that the players shall find a place at national and next levels. This shall include winter skiing endeavour at Jai Bhaderwah.
 
 It was informed that on the directions of Hon’ble MOS, Dr Jitendra Singh, these events are organised at Panchayat, Block, District, and constituency level.
 
 In a meeting earlier, which was chaired by the Hon’ble MOS and attended by all DDC Chairpersons and DCs, broad contours were worked out. It was decided to hold winter skiing as an initiative for boosting the sports activities and tourism in the area. District Administration, BDA and Youth Services and Sports department pursued the plan and discussed with other stakeholders, prominently 4RR (Army) Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering, Forest, and police department for better collaboration.
 
DDC stated that LG administration is keen and committed to take initiatives to give a fillip to tourism and sports related activities.
 
During the meeting the DYSSO informed the DDC that 237 panchayats and around  37 muncipal wards will be participating in the event in which around 3300 local players shall participate in the age group of under 17 in different sports activities, besides informed that the event shall be inter panchayat level from where local players shall be identified for next level competition.
 
 
The games which shall be played during the event in all panchayats include kabaddi, wrestling, volleyball, and athletics. On the suggestion of the house, Chess and Carom board were also included, and it was directed to frame a structural plan for the hassle free conduct of the event.    
 
He directed the ADC Bhaderwah to make sure that   the Covid-19 guidelines be properly followed by the  participants and people who come to attend and witness the event. 
 
Further, the DDC directed the DYSSO to coordinate with the Personnel from Police, Army, and other concerned departments so that a viable plan shall be framed. He was further directed to give advertisement through the medium of print, electronic, and social media for the invitation of the eligible to registration of the names of participants by or before 20 february.
 
He constituted a core team of ADC Bhaderwah, CEO BDA, and Captain 4-RR to jointly take decisions and to  give wide publicity to this national event so that more and more people come to witness and participate in the event, besides  synergising their efforts. The DDC further directed the OC GREF to provide machinery to make the roads clear for smooth and hassle free access to the venue.                        DFO Bhadarwah was directed to provide firewood at the venues of the event.
 
The DDC informed the meeting that it is a national event that requires extra efforts and rational planning so that the aims and objectives of the event shall be fulfilled in the letter and spirit.
 
The meeting was attended by  ADC Bhaderwah, CO 4RR, CEO BDA, OC GREF, DYSSO Doda, representatives of Hotel and guest house association and tour and travel / trade associations, Sh Sanjay Kotwal and Sh Ravinder Thakur and Incharge Jawahar Institute of mountaineering were also present.   
 
Later on, the DDC Doda also paid a surprise visit to the SDH Bhadarwah after the conclusion of the meeting and took stock of availability of doctors, staff,  medicines, and proper working of the equipments used in patient care and diagnosis.
