*Mission Shakti, SWD celebrate National Girl Child Day at Doda* _Transformation of the society is possible only when women participate actively – DC Doda_

DODA, JANUARY 24:- As we know, every year on 24th of January “National Girl Child Day” is observed all over Country to promote awareness about the rights of a girl child and to promote the importance of their education, health, and nutrition. Mission Shakti Doda in collaboration with Social Welfare Department Doda organized an impressive programme at Community Hall Doda today to mark the celebration on National Girl Child Day. The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan and attended by CEO Doda, Principal DIET Doda, DIO DIPR Doda, DSWO Doda, Incharge Mission Shakti Doda, Girl Students and women from all walks of life.
Girls from Nari Niketan Doda also performed a skit titled “Save the Girl Child.” Various speakers threw light on the girl child rights and initiatives of the Government in this regard. A signature campaign and cultural programme drew the due attention of the audience in the programme. There was also a painting competition with the theme “Save the Girl Child” and Menstrual Hygiene.
During the programme, Girls achievers from across the district were felicitated by the DC and other dignitaries in the programme. Various girls from Nari Niketan and various other schools felicitated in the programme, include, Shehnaza Banoo,Taiba Anjum, Meenakshi Goria, Savita Sharma, Simran Rakwal, Faiza Taben, Sanjna Bhutyal, Komal Sharma, Sahila Banoo, Shilpa Sharma and others.
‘Transformation of the society is possible only when women participate actively’ said DC Doda while addressing the gathering at Community Hall Doda. He stressed upon each girl child to prove their might and excel in every field, be it education, research, politics, commerce, or whatever else.
