DM, SSP Doda inspect District Jail; Ask for providing skills to the inmates and also to work on reformation and de-radicalisation of inmates.

Doda, February 22; DM Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan along with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom inspected District Jail at Bhaderwah yesterday to get a current overview of jail, type of inmates lodged, and assess the facilities being provided to the inmates.  

 

The Superintendent Jail Mushtaq Ahmed Malla gave a brief presentation about the working of the Jail and facilities provided to the inmates. The District Magistrate inspected cells and barracks, hospital and vocational hall of the jail and interacted with the inmates and detenus lodged in the jail. He inquired about their cases, grievances if any, and advised them to live a law abiding citizen life by transforming during their jail stay. He was also introduced to the music activity in which a group of 10 inmates are involved, by witnessing their performance in vocational/music hall.

 

DM also assured providing some additional books for jail library, & sports items.

DM discussed about possibilities of providing skills to inmates and asked superintendent jail to workout on possible skill development like wastage recycling plant and submit proposal. He further directed to submit the status of computer education centre and equipments required for same. 

DM stresssed upon working out a program/plan for proper de-radicalisation of inmates who are in jail in unlawful and millitancy related activities.
