_DC Doda inaugurates Skill Training programme for 20 youth under SANKALP_

Doda, March 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan today inaugurated Skill Training programme for 20 youth under Skill Acquisition & Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) at ITI Doda, here.
It was informed that the training program is carried out for the candidates identified under Back to Village 4th Phase and My Town My Pride 2nd phase. The training programme inaugurated today shall impart skills to the trainees for Domestic Data Entry Operator under SANKALP.
The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the candidates and guided them on how they can use their skills of computer knowledge towards earning better livelihood. He also cited that all the government services are now online, which also increases the demand for computer savvy resource persons in the district. The Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of ITI Doda discussed the possibility of using skilled youth for services in the district through the Adbhut Doda online platform. The Superintendent was commended for the high-tech computer lab available at ITI Doda. Additionally, the District Information Officer (Nodal Officer for Skill Development in the district) Sh. Mohd Ashraf Wani, briefed candidates on utilising online tools for freelancing services through which they can earn a living. Deputy commissioner Doda asked Mr. Manujender Singh, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow (MGNF), to design a roadmap to start a skilling course for waste management at ITI Doda in consultation with superintendent ITI Doda.
DC emphasized the trainees to learn skills properly to be able to earn sustainable livelihood for themselves and generate employment for others as well. He also directed the superintendent ITI to make the training programme effective so that the youth will be self-reliant after completion of the training from the ITI.
