_One-day Kisan Mela, Farmer’s Awareness Camp held in Doda_ *More than 600 farmers attended: DC, Director Agri. Jammu inaugurated the programme*

Doda March 18 : Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare today conducted a one-day KisanMela/Farmers Awareness Camp in Community Hall Doda. Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan and Director Agriculture Jammu KK Sharma inaugurated the Programme in presence of SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, ADC Doda Dr R K Bharti, President MC Doda Ved Parkash Gupta, BDC Chairman Gundana Sarshad Natnoo, DDC Councillor Gundana Asim Hashmi, Chief agriculture Officer Doda Anil Gupta and others. 

 

Approximately 600 farmers and staff of allied departments like Horticulture, Floriculture, Sheep Husbandary, Apiculture, and Animal Husbandry also participated in the programme. Chief Agriculture Officer Doda Anil Gupta presented the welcome address and brief activities of the department being carried out in the district. 

 

Technical sessions were also held for the farmers in which various resource persons advised the farmers of latest and scientific agricultural practices to increase the produce and double the farmer’s income. Sessions on Soil Health & its management, Integrated farming, and formation of FPOs were held during the programme. 

 

Stalls to showcase the best agricultural practices were also inspected by the DC and Director Agriculture, and the best stalls/products were awarded with cash prizes by the department.
