DC Doda launches Horticulture plantation drive in Assar; Appeals farmers to grow fruit trees for better livelihood

Doda, March 03: Fruit trees plantation drive/ campaign was launched in Assar Sub Division by District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan in the presence of Chief Horticulture Officer Doda Rakesh Kotwal, from Ganota Assar, today.

 

Plantation drive of fruit plants is being carried out by the Horticulture department in the district under the CAPEX scheme 2022-23. During current financial year, an area of 200 Hectors shall be brought under plantation. Besides, an area of 50 Hectors will be covered under high density plantation in which different crops viz Apple, Peach, Plum, Pear and Walnut shall be planted, informed Chief Horticulture Officer Doda while briefing about the drive.

 

DC has appealed farmers to opt for fruit trees Plantation for better livelihood, improvement of air quality, production of healthy food, sustaining ecosystem for birds/ animals, and promotion of green enthusiasm.
