DDC Doda discusses District's Good Governance Index and Aspirational Panchayats Development Programme_

Doda, March 21: District Development Commissioner, Doda vishesh Mahajan chaired a meeting of the District/Sectoral officers to discuss the District’s Good Governance Index in Jammu & Kashmir. During the meeting,  it was informed that the District Good Governance index is being monitored by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir for improving the efficiency across the UT Districts for which 58 Indicators and 116 data items have been finalized and approved by the Government for the year 2022-23. 
 
The data furnished by all the concerned District/Sectoral officers was discussed in detail. While reviewing indicator wise progress made by the respective sectors, the DDC has said that the Agriculture and alied sectors are the priority sectors, which must be focussed for the maximum benefit of the farmer’s community. Human resource management was reviewed, and CEO was directed to make extraordinary efforts in bringing back the school dropout children in the school. Health, Social Welfare, Public Infra structure, and other sectors were also reviewed, discussed, and directions were passed to create ease for the public in getting the services from government agencies.
 
District Development Commissioner Doda, also discussed Aspirational Panchayat Development Programme (APDP) in the meeting. 
The APDP initiative aims to develop aspirational Panchayats through convergence of various ongoing District/UT Schemes and Centrally Sponsored Schemes/Programmes. 
On the analogy of Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP), Jammu & Kashmir has rolled out APDP with the aim to ensure expeditious improvement in the socio-economic status of most backward panchayats across Jammu & Kashmir. 
 
A total of 100 measurable indicators have been identified across 9 sectors including Agriculture and Allied Activities, Health and Nutrition, Education, Rural Development and Sanitation, Beneficiary-Oriented Schemes, Skill Development, Basic Infrastructure, Environment and Good Governance. These indicators will provide insight into existing status and incremental progress over time. 
 
Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayoom, ADDC Doda Pran Singh, Chief Planning Officer/ District Statistics & Evaluation Officer, Suprintending Engineer PWD, Suprintending Engineer JPDCL, Suprintending Engineer JSD, ACD, ACP, CEO, Principal DIET,  CMO, CAHO,DSHO, ARTO, LDM, DYSSO, CHO, Div Officer PCC, AD Fishries, Suprintendent ITI Doda, besides other officers attended the meeting.
