Askini Festival Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, February 24;
Much famed Winter Carnival ‘Askini Bhaderkashi Utsav’ starts today from Jai Valley Bhaderwah amid snow, beautiful scenery of Jai Valley under clear skies and warm sun. 
 
 The Utsav was thrown open by Major General Ajay Kumar GOC, CIF(D) along with Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan and other dignitaries. 
 Enthralling cultural and musical performances by popular artists and singers from within and outside Jammu and Kashmir mesmerised the tourists. Famous singer Kabul Bukhari performed live and enthralled the audience with his sweet voice. Local artists also performed and hypnotised the audience. Diku Dance, Kan Chouth, Local fashion show, Lath Show, Snow local Wresting, Cnow Cricket and other fun activities were some other highlights of the day. A local talent hunt was held during the day long activities.
 
The winter festival is being celebrated every year in the Bhaderwah Valley from last many years, and is one of the biggest annual events of the District’s tourism calendar.
 
The two days Utsav is being organised by Tourism department, in collaboration with BDA, District Administration, and Indian Army 4RR under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to expose the tourists to a confluence of Bhaderwahi and Doda’s ethnic arts, crafts, cuisines, and engage them in fun activities besides entertaining them with performances by various Celebrity Artists. Large number of tourists from all over India thronged the meadows of Bhaderwah 
 
The DC Doda said that Bhaderwah is being developed as round the year tourist destination. UT administration and District administration is taking care of establishing world class infrastructure to attract the tourists and give them never before experience for hospitality and natural beauty.
 
Major General Ajay Kumar GOC expressed his immense pleasure seeing the charm of Jai Valley and arrangements made by the administration and Indian Army. He said that regional peace along with better infrastructure, connectivity and quality hotels are prerequisite for tourists attraction and the Administration is working on all the parameters to make Bhaderwah one of the world class tourist places in near future.
