One day orientation programme cum workshop for PRIs & Health staff held at Block Assar

The District Health Society Doda on 08-03-2023 organized a day-long orientation programme cum workshop for PRIs & health professionals of Block Assar on “Climate Change & its Impact on Human Health” at Trauma Hospital Khellani in District Doda. 

 

The programme was held on the directions of worthy Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr A H Zargar, under National Programme on Climate Change & Human Health (NPCCHH), which aims to sensitize & educate the PRIs and health professionals about the perils of climate change and prepare them for the illnesses that could arise due to global warming.

 

The workshop was conducted by Guest Speakers as Mohammad Faheem Butt (District Finance & Logistic Consultant) & Zaheer Gattu (Sanitary Inspector) who highlighted the participants about the impact of climate change on human health. They explained the global scenario of climate change & its health hazards & educated how to prevent & protect our environment for the future generation.

 

The participants were asked about their role and how to create mass awareness among the general public regarding the impact of climatic change on human health and to strengthen capacity to reduce illness due to variability in climate. 

 

BMO Assar Dr Tanveer Ahmed, Dr Manjeet Singh, BAM NHM Sh Shashi Kumar, Sh Ashiq Hussain (DAC) & other staff of the block besides local PRIs of the area were present on the occasion.
