Orientation cum training on Bio-Medical Waste Management conducted by DHS Doda

DODA, March 29: 

 

A workshop to aware doctors and paramedical staff about disposal of bio-medical waste was held at CMO Office Doda on 28-03-2023, organized by District Health Society Doda. 

 

The workshop was attended by around 30 participants from Block Ghat, which was held under the supervision of worthy Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Ab Hamid Zargar. 

 

Sh Zaheer Abass (Sanitary Inspector) was the Guest Speaker besides Sh Jahangir Mehta (DPM NHM), Mashhood Latif (BMEO NHM) and Incharge Stores Sh Zeeshan Ali Tramboo were also present on the occasion. 

 

Sh Zaheer Abass, gave the lecture on the importance of segregation of biomedical waste and treatment of each of the categories appropriately and effectively, to render the biomedical waste harmless.

 

He made aware all the participants about the generation and proper keeping, segregation and disposal of Bio-Medical Waste as well as utilization of Black, Red, Blue, Yellow and White dustbins during disposing off of Bio Medical Waste. Besides, he also informed that if the biowaste is not disposed off properly it can cause a lot of diseases/infections which adversely affect the patients, attendants, Medical / Para-medical staff and atmosphere of the surroundings.

 

All the participants discussed in detail the importance of Bio-Medical Waste Management and its treatment

 

The workshop generated positive feedback and participants suggested that more such workshops should be held.
