Two days district level NSSK training for MOs & SNs host by DHS Doda

The District Health Society Doda on 29-03-2023 organized a two days district level training of Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (NSSK) for Medical Officers and Staff Nurses at District Training Centre Khellani in Doda District w.e.f 29-03-2023 to 30-03-2023.
On the first day of the training, the training session was inaugurated by CMO Doda Dr Ab Hamid Zargar.
The objective of organizing training session was to train health professionals in basic new born care and resuscitation at every delivery point besides to equip health care providers with knowledge & skill required to handle neonatal cases in the most efficient way.
Dr Mohd Rafiq Lone (MO-Pediatrics) was the Guest Speaker cum Trainer on the occasion, who imparted the basic education about NSSK programme.
Citing that in infant mortality rate, two third deaths are due to neonatal mortality & to save the life of a neonatal a minute after birth is most critical and important.
While focusing on birth asphyxia, Dr Lone said that sepsis, premature births and hypothermia are some major causes for infant mortality rate.
CMO Doda Dr A H Zargar, while addressing the participants briefed about purpose ofbconducting training session & asked them to take benefit from it, adding that the training will help to fill the gap, refreshes knowledge and address the major causes of neonatal mortality.
The training was managed & coordinated by DPM NHM Sh Jahangir Mehta besides Rishi Kumar Pandita, Ms Ashima Kotwal (DAM) and Sh C K Shan (DMEO) were also present on the occasion.
Around 30-35 participants including Medical Officers & Staff Nurses from each Medical Block attended the training programme.
