Doda, January 30 – Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, led a comprehensive review meeting at the mini hall of the DC office complex today, focusing on various social welfare schemes. The meeting, attended by ADC Doda Dr. Ravi Kumar Bharti, CPO Doda Suresh Kumar Sharma, DSWO Doda Tariq Parvez Qazi, CMO Doda, CEO Doda Parshotam Singh Jasrotia, TSWOs, and representatives from concerned departments, delved into the details of schemes such as Mission Shakti, Beti bachao Beti padao ,Mission Vatsalya, pensions, scholarships, and prosthetic aid.

 

 The meeting entailed a detailed review of schemes benefiting categories including old age pension, support for women in distress, physically challenged individuals, and transgenders. The total number of beneficiaries availing these schemes stood at approximately 38,881. Furthermore, deliberations on the PM Care Scheme aimed at ensuring precise data collection and reporting for beneficiaries were held.

 

Deputy Commissioner Singh underscored the importance of timely execution of welfare schemes, emphasizing priority assistance for those eligible. The status of old age homes in the district was discussed, revealing NGO involvement in setup facilitation due to pending government funding. Additionally, plans for district rehabilitation centers and necessary land acquisition were deliberated to enhance welfare infrastructure.

 

The meeting highlighted the distribution of prosthetic aids and motorized tricycles under social welfare schemes, with approximately 160 aids already provided in the year 2023-2024. Scholarships benefiting around 9,293 individuals under various schemes for the year 2022-2023 were also noted. Furthermore, discussions encompassed child care institutions under Parisha and Palash, as well as scholarship projects for orphans of civilian casualties in militancy cases under NF 

 

Throughout the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Singh stressed the importance of resolving any pending issues related to social welfare pensions promptly, ensuring efficient and equitable distribution of benefits among eligible individuals.
