**District Authorities, Headed by DC Harvinder Singh, and SSP Abdul Qayoom Intensify Efforts to Combat Drug Abuse in Doda**

 

DODA JANUARY 16 , 2024 :

In a joint initiative, District Magistrate Harvinder Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayoom called for increased vigilance on Educational Institutions, Medical Stores, and Medical Institutions in Doda during 19 th NCORD meeting. The objective is to curb the proliferation of drug abuse in the district. Emphasizing the need to tighten the noose on habitual offenders, drug peddlers, and their supporters, the officials aim to liberate the district from the grip of drug abuse.

 

During the 19th NCORD meeting, it was highlighted that collective efforts have led to various panchayats in the district being declared drug-free. The stakeholders and PRIs have played a pivotal role in this achievement. To confirm suspicions, drug testing kits are actively utilized, guiding subsequent courses of action. The meeting extensively discussed both the accomplishments and future plans to effectively combat the menace of drugs in the district.

 

SSP Doda, serving as the Convenor of NCORD, affirmed that the district police is fully committed to eradicating and monitoring drug activities across Doda. This underscores a comprehensive approach to address the issue, ensuring that all necessary support and efforts, under the leadership of DC Harvinder Singh, are mobilized to create a drug-free environment. The officials remain steadfast in their determination to build on the successes achieved so far and continue the battle against drug abuse in the region.
