*Empowering Youth through "MUMKIN" Scheme: DDC Doda Distributes Vehicles to Unemployed Youth*

 
Doda January 04 : In a bid to support the local unemployed youth, Harvinder Singh, DDC Doda, spearheaded the distribution of essential resources under the “MUMKIN” scheme. The initiative, launched by Hon’ble LG J&K in November 2020, aims to provide a viable livelihood to individuals aged 18-35 in the Jammu & Kashmir region.
During a vehicle distribution ceremony at the District Employment and Counselling Centre in Doda, Harvinder Singh handed over 4 commercial mini load carriers and 4 passenger vehicles to selected applicants. This ceremony marked the delivery of vehicles to 8 approved applicants who received keys, selected vehicles, and necessary documentation to kick start their livelihoods.
 
The event witnessed the presence of Idress Lone, Deputy Director of the Employment and Counselling Centre, Imtiyaz Ali, Employment Officer, along with other officials from the district employment and counselling centre in Doda. Deputy Commissioner Doda emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing government schemes and urged the beneficiaries to drive responsibly.
Highlighting the success of the Mumkin and Tejaswini schemes, the DC expressed how these initiatives have proven beneficial for the unemployed youth of the district. Under the Mumkin scheme, a total of 152 vehicles have been distributed so far, amounting to a utilization of approximately 130 lakhs towards this purpose.
The primary objective of the MUMKIN scheme is to empower the youth by facilitating their entry into the transport sector, ensuring a sustainable livelihood. This is achieved by providing financial assistance to purchase small commercial vehicles, aiding individuals in establishing a secure means of income.
 
The distribution ceremony served as a significant step towards enabling the youth to create a stable source of livelihood, contributing to the economic development of the region through entrepreneurship in the transport sector.
