*DODA, January 15 :  The National Road Safety Month in Doda commenced with a significant inauguration ceremony led by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and supervised by ARTO Doda, Rajesh Gupta. Enthusiastic volunteers, including school children, actively participated in an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign aimed at promoting road safety in the district. The primary objective is to raise awareness and ensure adherence to traffic rules and regulations, particularly for those navigating hilly terrains.

Volunteers took to the streets passionately advocating for essential road safety measures tailored for hilly terrains. Recognizing the unique challenges posed by the geography, the initiative underscored the importance of vehicle operators exercising extra caution. The campaign emphasized discouraging overloading, preventing over speeding, and dissuading the use of mobile phones while driving. This proactive involvement of the community, especially school children, highlighted a collective commitment to ensuring road safety in Doda.

 

The inauguration ceremony not only showcased community engagement but also unveiled a comprehensive set of safety measures specifically designed for hilly areas. In addition to addressing overloading, over speeding, and mobile phone use, the campaign emphasized regular vehicle maintenance, adherence to traffic signals, and the use of reflective gear during low visibility. The month-long celebration aims to instill a culture of responsible driving, creating safer roads for all residents of Doda.

 

During the road safety campaign organized by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Doda, students from various government and private schools actively participated Carrying banners showcasing road safety precautions, students disseminated guidelines to the public and raised slogans promoting traffic awareness. The opening ceremony featured the presence of officers and officials from the MVD Doda, with ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta emphasizing safety measures for both commercial and personal drivers. The call was clear – adherence to traffic rules and regulations, with special attention to safety measures while driving in hilly areas. ARTO Doda urged the public and students to not only follow traffic rules themselves but also spread the message for a safer driving environment.
