*Innovative Entrepreneurship Development Program under AVSAR Scheme launched in Doda district*

DODA, JANUARY 27 : Centre for Essential Skills (CES) IIT Jammu in association with the District Administration Doda, inaugurated a skill development program from January-March 2024 at GMC Ghat (Doda). The program, under the Mission Youth AVSAR scheme, aimed to provide vocational training and enhance the employability of the youth in the Doda district. The inauguration ceremony was held with great enthusiasm, and several dignitaries graced the occasion.  Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh, Dr. Amitash Ojha, faculty and HOD CES IIT Jammu, was present, and They emphasized the importance of skill development in empowering the youth and promoting self-reliance, shared the vision and objectives of the skill development program. They highlighted the opportunities it would create for the youth to gain essential skills in various industries and contribute to the overall growth of the region. Prof. Manoj S Gaur, the Director of IIT Jammu, also addressed the gathering, expressing his support for the initiative and emphasizing the institute's commitment to promoting skill development and entrepreneurship. Prof. Dr. Puja Umesh, Principal GMC Ghat Doda, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Ravi Kumar Bharti and General Manager of the District Industries Center Doda, Idrees lone were also present at the event. To mark the occasion, a lamp lighting ceremony was conducted, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the acquisition of knowledge. Additionally, booklets containing information about the skill development program and the various courses available were distributed among the attendees. The inauguration ceremony paved the way for the commencement of the skill development program, which aimed to equip the youth of Doda with the necessary skills to enhance their employability and contribute to the economic development of the region.
