*Com/ Secry Tourism Leads Public Darbar in Doda**

 

 

Bhaderwah, February 18

 

In a significant initiative, Yasha Mudgal, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, J&K UT, Tourism Department, led a public outreach program at the Lal Ded Auditorium of the University campus in Bhaderwah. Joined by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, CEO BDA Bal Krishan, and district officers, they addressed public grievances alongside representatives from various departments, setting the tone for direct community engagement.

 

During the public forum, a myriad of issues spanning tourism industry development, adventure tourism, infrastructure maintenance, lavender farming, and the implementation of government schemes were brought to light by speakers, including sarpanchs, PRIs, and public representatives. The demands for improved amenities, employment opportunities, and tourism initiatives underscored the importance of inclusive development in the region.

 

Commissioner/ Secretary Yasha Mudgal acknowledged the progress under the present UT government, emphasizing significant advancements across all sectors in the district. She assured timely resolution of raised issues, highlighted the importance of completing projects within stipulated timeframes, and pledged support for initiatives to boost tourism and address basic infrastructure needs.

 

She urged concerned officers to prioritize the implementation of government-sponsored schemes to maximize benefits for the public. She emphasized the potential of Bhaderwah in adventure tourism and promoted initiatives like homestays to enhance tourism and livelihood opportunities. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of awareness about HADP schemes for inclusive development and directed officials to frame a tourism calendar to promote district Doda as an agri-tourism destination.

 

Throughout the event, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh reiterated the administration’s commitment to resolving public grievances and promoting initiatives such as lavender farming and the Gandola car cable service to enhance tourism. The collaborative efforts of the administration and public representatives reaffirmed the commitment to inclusive development in Bhaderwah.
